Golf Iron Ball Trajectory
What can be done to avoid a flat trajectory of ball in golf while using iron 5,4,3 and woods?
I am picking up golf and getting the required loft from 9 and 7 iron but am having problem in playing the other irons and woods. The ball either slices off to the right or goes along the ground.
Try using a wider, more stretched swing, while keeping your head in place. It sounds like your club face is tilting forward on impact, thus leading to a lower trajectory. Usually with the lower (i.e. longer) irons, there should be a lower trajectory, though.
Also, usually beginners have too steep of a backswing and follow-through, so the wider, more stretched swing should help make the club face more "square" and thus, give you better contact. Good luck.
