when practicing golf, should i hit with the same club the whole time to get more consistent?

i really suck with the long irons so should I just hit the entire basket of balls with just a 3-iron? and then the next time switch to 4iron or something? i'm really inconsistent so i'm thinking this might help?
what about using hybrids?

Some teachers like that idea (especially with a 6 iron), but many disagree with that. You need to learn how to hit every club (even the hybrids), so divvy up practice time. Try bouncing around- start with a 7 iron, switch to the 3 wood, go to the SW, then driver, then 9 Iron, etc...

Remember to go through your pre-shot routine after every 4th or 5th swing... that will help with consistency.
