What would be the purpose of drilling holes in the toe of a golf club?

I saw a 2 iron for sale at a retail location and the pro couldn't tell me. Is it to change the swing weight, or to create a cavity back?

Well it would reduce the weight in the toe, which would effectively increase the weight in the heel, which would theoretically allow you to draw the ball more. Probably someone couldn't hit the 2 iron straight so they thought they would modify it. I have heard a lot of tricks over the years (sand down the shaft, lead tape added, rusty face etc) and never heard of anyone drilling holes in the toe of a club. Not sure it would be legal either.
