What are the best set of Golf Irons for a 28 handicap golfer?

I am looking to reduce my handicap to about 18 over next 2 years. What clubs would you advise?

Most name brands make a solid game improvement iron. Cobra, Callaway, Ping, Taylormade, Cleveland, Mizuno, etc. etc. all have something that could work. Try them all and see which look good to you over the ball and which feel the best on impact.

The most important piece, though, is to make sure that whatever clubs you choose fit correctly. Ideally, I would suggest finding a course pro or retail outlet that have a fitting cart with a launch monitor. This will allow the pro to fit you for club length, shaft flex, shaft weight, lie angle and a number of other factors. The fact is that the way irons are fit to your swing is as important as the actual brand and model you choose.
