should all my golf clubs be the same length?

more specifically my irons..my 3 and my pitching wedge are very different in length

No!! The lie angle of the club is dictated by the loft and that effects the length of the shaft. The driver has the least lie angle and you are reaching for the ball , creating a wider swing plane with a longer club to gain distance. With your pitching wedge, you want finesse. This brings the ball closer to your body, . You need a straighter posture( more upright ) and a more confined swing for accuracy. That is why each shaft is a different length.
