If you had $1000 for a complete golf set, what would you buy?

Long answer:
First I buy them used so I would go to a local golf shop and test out the top of the line golf clubs such as Nike, Taylor Made, Callaway, etc. (personal favorite store: Golfsmith)

Chances are, the brand for your driver may vary from the brand of irons and wedges. When you found what you want, go online, such as globalgolf.com or http://callawaygolfpreowned.com/default.aspx or http://www.golfsmith.com/po/ and buy them used but make sure they're in almost new or mint condition. If they don't have it, there's no choice but to buy from rockbottomgolf.com since they got some of the best prices in golf clubs and if you don't mind taxes, you can even buy from golfsmith.com.

Whatever you do, NEVER ever tell the salesman that you have $1000 to spend on golf clubs. Yes he will give you the best set under $1000 but I can get you the best and maybe the same set for less.

I use Cobra drivers, MacGregor irons, Wilson SW and MacGregor LW, Dunlop putter and my games are very consistent. If I were to play hardcore and competing with others, I may buy more expensive golf clubs but since this is for recreational purposes and fun, I don't need top of the line but yes, I do recommend buying high rated golf clubs.
