type of irons clubs should i buy?

im a beginner golf player, i want to purchase my first set of golf clubs in order to practice more and improve my game. I have been thinking about the taylormade r9 or the callaway x-22, however i dont know which type to buy. Im a 22 year old male. My guess is that i should buy steel and not graphite and it should be stiff, not regular or flex. Please tell me if im right or not. i have put the links, please tell me which options i should choose. Also, i measure 1.87 cm, would that lenght of golf clubs would be right or i should need a extra-bigger lenght?

First things first. Find out what your swing speed is. This will usually dictate which shaft flex you should get. The wrong flex will most definitely hurt your game. Second is graphite vs. steel shafts. Graphite shafts in general will give you better distance and be easier on the hands, while steel shafts will hit shorter but be more accurate (kind of a wash there, but steel shafts are less expensive). Last but not least, don't buy a set because of the name. T.M. and Callaway make great clubs, but for a beginner you might want to look into something else. There are many companies, such as Adams, that make great sets for beginner golfers. They are very forgiving and hit pretty long. With the money you save go out and take a few lessons. Expensive clubs are useless without a good swing. And don't forget to find a good putter. This club can be your best friend or your worst nightmare. If it all possible go to a sporting goods store with a simulator. It will show your swing speed and give you an idea of how the clubs feel when you are hitting them. Good luck to you.
