What irons are best for my game?
I'm looking for a new set of irons. I've been playing for a while now and I was on varsity for 4 years in high school. I haven't been playing to seriously and I'll be attending the Golf Academy to pursue a Golf Professional career. I'm looking for new irons because my Ping's I have aren't that great, and I'm missing a few clubs. I'm looking into the Taylor Made Burner's, the King Cobra SZ, and S9; but am open to other options. I've heard good things about the FT irons from Callaway and basically I'm kinda bombarded with a bunch of decisions. which club, which stiffness. I'm a high handi-capper and I'm looking for that nice club. Please Help.
Those irons are definitely nice, forgiving irons. I would suggest the Burners. I am slightly biased because I do prefer TaylorMade over other companies but both of the cobra sets you are looking at are very nice too. Another set from Cobra that you might want to look at are the Cobra FP irons. If you plan on lowering your scores and becoming a mid-handicapper, these irons will allow you to impart some control on the ball instead of being meant to hit the ball dead straight. As far as the Callaway irons go, they are overpriced. You are paying an extra 100-200 for the same quality irons that other companies offer. However, The FT irons are some of the most forgiving irons out there today.
